A new concept of floating structure developed by the BLUEWATER company was tested in the wave and current flume tank of Ifremer, in the framework of the MARINET project.
 
The behavior of this marine current energy converter was studied under wave and current loading. Motions of the device equipped with two horizontal axis three-bladed turbines were characterized thanks to a video tracking system and tensions in the mooring lines were recorded.
 
Many configurations (blades rotation direction and pitch angles) and turbines functioning points were performed during the two weeks of tests (7-18 January 2013).
